How this calculation works
Each month interest is added at the annual nominal rate divided by 12. Pay every active debt’s entered minimum, then direct remaining money to the smallest balance. The original total monthly budget is maintained as debts close.
A worked example
At 0% interest, balances of R1 000 and R2 000 with R500 minimums each and no extra payment clear in three months with R3 000 repaid.
Assumptions & limitations
- Enter up to five debts, their current balances, rates and fixed minimum amounts. Actual minimums, fees and variable rates can change; no new borrowing is modelled.
- Payments roll over immediately to another debt in the same month. A 600-month limit is used; incomplete plans show the remaining balance without claiming a debt-free date.
