How this calculation works
Multiply consumption by your VAT-inclusive rate and add the VAT-inclusive fixed charges. Divide by billing days to show average daily cost.
A worked example
500 kWh at R3.50/kWh plus R200 fixed costs gives R1 950 for the billing period.
Assumptions & limitations
- South African tariffs vary by municipality, supplier, tariff plan and date. Enter an actual blended bill rate. Inclining block, time-of-use, demand, subsidies and free-basic allocations are not separately modelled; use their effective rate where appropriate.
